Halfpenny Brewery, Lechlade

We use organic ingredients, including crushed, malted barley and a variety of whole hops for bittering and aroma. A range of beers is brewed with strengths ranging from 4%ABV to 5% ABV. Beer is packed with many of the nutrients the body needs for a healthy diet. We know cereals are good for us, beer is made from cereals...but we often fail to make the healthy connection. Unlike other alcoholic drinks it is chock full of vitamins and minerals, including magnesium, selenium, potassium, phosphorus, biotin, and B vitamins. Our draught ales are cask conditioned, in 40 litre stainless steel casks for 14 days. Oak casks are used inside the Crown, and can be seen behind the bar. "We have sourced and ordered 10 vintage English oak barrels from Britain's only remaining master cooper. They're over 100 years old and a vital component of the whole process, as we are committed to traditional brewing methods." We have a small bottling plant, and package in 0.5 litre bottles, which can be supplied in cases of 12, or a presentation pack of 3.
